Registered Massage Therapy (RMT)
Registered Massage Therapy is a clinically-based, hands-on treatment approach focused on assessing and treating pain, injury, and movement dysfunction. As a Certified Registered Massage Therapist, I use evidence-informed techniques to support the body’s natural healing processes and restore optimal function.
Treatment is tailored to each individual and begins with a detailed assessment to understand your symptoms, movement patterns, and goals. From there, therapy may include soft tissue release, myofascial techniques, joint mobilization, and therapeutic exercise prescription to address the root cause of dysfunction—not just the symptoms.
Registered Massage Therapy can support recovery at every stage of healing, including:
- Acute phase (0–2 weeks): Reducing pain, swelling, and guarding while supporting safe early movement
- Subacute phase (2–6 weeks): Restoring mobility, improving circulation, and addressing compensatory patterns
- Rehabilitation phase (6–12+ weeks): Rebuilding strength, stability, and functional movement
- Maintenance & prevention: Supporting long-term tissue health, posture, performance, and injury prevention
RMT is highly effective for a wide range of concerns including musculoskeletal injuries, postural pain, headaches, nerve irritation, sports injuries, stress-related tension, and pregnancy or postpartum recovery.
For postpartum clients, Registered Massage Therapy can help support recovery by addressing abdominal and pelvic tension, scar tissue (including C-section scars), postural strain from feeding and carrying, and the overall physical demands of early motherhood. Treatments are adapted to each stage of healing and are always guided by comfort, safety, and individual needs.
The goal of treatment is not only pain relief, but also improved awareness, resilience, and confidence in how your body moves and functions in daily life.
